An anciente mappe of Fairyland : newly discovered and set forth
Bar Harbor

teenybuffalo and I saw this at the Boston Public Library today. It's pretty nifty in person, but in some ways better on-line, because you can zoom way in and linger over the details.

Every time I go back to that map I find something else I love. This time I noticed that there's a cave (near the witches' herbs/dancing fairies) labeled "Laidley Worm" with a discouraged dragon sticking out of it. That's one of the story threads connected up with the person-turned-into-a-dragon family of ballads, chief being "Kemp Owyne": https://mainlynorfolk.info/frankie.armstrong/songs/kempowyne.html

I just love the catalogue description of "Location."
